Everton F.C Coach coming to town!

Playing for the Future are pleased to announce an upcoming Coaching Clinic that will also launch the new sponsorship deal with KIT Ireland, the leading sportswear provider who recently pledged their support to Playing for the Future.

The group has secured the services of highly regarded English coach Andy Sas to conduct the coaching clinics that are being held at Glenavon F.C, Lurgan Town F.C and Armagh City F.C. The coaching clinics will take place on 17th & 19th Feb over a three hour period and will focus on long term player development.

Andy Sas has worked for Leeds United, Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town and is currently employed by Everton F.C. Andy will also do sessions with players involved in the Playing for the Future 1-to-1 specialised coaching programme. Playing for the Future’s Thomas McStravick said;

“We are delighted to announce such an exciting opportunity. This is a major coup for us as Andy does similar work for the Polish F.A and professional clubs such as Legia Warsaw. I know Andy through a contact I have in England and first met him while on a visit to the Leeds United Academy. He is really looking forward to coming over and we hope that this is the start of a long-term relationship between Playing for the Future and Andy. Andy has worked with some of the top players in today’s game including the likes of James Milner, Aaron Lennon, Phil Jones, Jonathon Woodgate as well as many others. ”

Campaign to raise funds in memory of Gary Speed

Michael Kew from Morley, Leeds is a Leeds United fan who has successfully campaigned for the release of Georgette Hill’s version of Marching on Together to raise funds in memory of Gary Speed.

Michael is a keen supporter of Playing for the Future and is regularly promoting us via facebook. His campaign has seen over 1,300 people join the facebook page in just one week. He has also received backing and radio time from Yorkshire Radio and TalkSport. The campaign has also received backing from Leeds United.

Tournament Applications Now Open

We are pleased to announce that the applications are now open for our Annual Youth Tournament in Association with KIT Ireland. The tournament will once again be held at Craigavon Senior High School on Saturday June 16th. We are introducing a new age group this year which will be u9 (2003) along with our usual u12 (2000).
