The ABP Craigavon Cup


Monday 5th of May 2014 seen us host the biggest youth football event for u7-u12 age groups in Northern Ireland with an official attendance of 2,243. The event was named after the late Jimmy Jones. Jimmy is the all-time leading goal scorer in Irish League History having played most notably at Belfast Celtic and Glenavon. Jimmy scored a record 646 career goals and once scored an incredible 74 goals in one season.

The Jimmy Jones Memorial Craigavon Cup 2015 was another huge success with English giants Leeds United participating in the event.

BREAKING NEWS

After consultation with key stakeholders we are pleased to announce the following revised details for our 2019 event, including an exciting announcement that we will now have a dedicated girls section;

6th July 2019
Boys: u7, u9, u11 @ Portadown People’s Park

7th July 2019
Boys: u8, u10, u12 @ Portadown People’s Park

7th July 2019
Girls: u9 @ venue TBC

Boys section 96 teams
Girls section 16 teams

All teams within the boys sections will be guaranteed the same number of games. We will be increasing game time along with the re-introduction of 4 competitions within each age group meaning all teams will have a semi-final to play.

Clubs are encouraged to enter their best team at each age group to provide them with the best possible chance of winning the overall Jimmy Jones trophy.

ABP TCC 2018

The ABP Craigavon Cup 2018 was a huge success with 192 teams taking part over two days. In total over 6,000 people attended the tournament. Teams travelled from NI, ROI, England and Scotland as the international appeal of our event continues to grow. This was year five of the tournament and the first year we held the event in Portadown People’s Park. Some amazing football was played over the course of the two days with Dungannon United Youth winning the overall prestigious Jimmy Jones Memorial Trophy.
