Players, parents and coaches from the Playing for the Future Technical Skills Academy had a dream football trip recently. The TSA players trained at the Wrexham F.C training ground and had a talk from Wrexham F.C’s first team manager. Andy Morrell, who played for Coventry City and whose team will play at Wembley in two weeks’ time and who are also in prime position to get promoted to the football league, took time out of his busy schedule to have a chat with the TSA kids.

Playing for the Future was privileged to get an invite to visit the Leeds United Academy. Leeds United’s Academy is renowned for producing players to play at the highest level and it was a great experience for our kids to visit a state of the art facility. The boys got a tour of the academy including the indoor pitch, swimming pool, gym, outdoor pitches and even got to see the academy teams from u9 – u18 train.

One TSA player even got the opportunity to join in and train with the Leeds United u9 Academy team, a truly once in a lifetime experience. He has been invited back to train with the academy in the near future. A true testament to the work the Playing for the Future Technical Skills Academy is doing.

One parent said;

“This trip has been the best experience that I could ever have wished for. To get such an insight into a well renowned professional academy was unbelievable. My son will remember this forever.”

To top off the trip the TSA members took in the Everton v Reading game in the Barclays Premier League. The group seen an entertaining game with four goals and plenty of good football and excitement. They even got to meet some of the players after the game.
